In 2012, Lou asked me to serve as Chairman of the Board of Armed Forces Mission. He laid out the vision from day one. "AFM is called to save the lives of those at risk of suicide." In the five years that I served, Lou conducted more than 800 suicide interventions and trained thousands to do the same. Reaching the faith community has from the start been his greatest desire. Churches with a heart for building healthy communities would do well to fallow the leader who teaches from a proven base of personal experience. Chaplain Lou Koon is such a leader.
